My work explores the emotional and visual exchange of the human soul and nature. I draw inspiration from the landscape and its relationship to the foundation of human spirituality.
To embody this experience, I meld together the figurative and the organic. Through my work, I hope to evoke that interplay of experience and internalization in those viewing the work.
My work initially began with the question of the role of nature in the creation of mythologies and human spirituality and our role to either perpetuate or create new ones. I began to parallel life in general to myth, and realized the true power in the human experience of nature is in the emotion that is felt, and knew that that was what I wanted to recreate.
